About Me:

Tanya M. Solis, M.D. is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, she is also board certified in Pain Management as a subspecialty. Dr. Solis attended Rutgers University for undergraduate work and the University of Virginia for her Residency in PM&R and completed a fellowship in pain management. She relocated to Palestine in 2002, subsequently starting a private practice and later joined Magnolia Health Systems in 2008. Dr. Solis is a member of the Texas Pain Society, American Pain Society and American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, American Association of Neuromuscular & Electro diagnostic Medicine, Texas Medical Association and the Anderson/Leon County Medical Society. Dr Solis is also the medical director for the David E. Foster Inpatient Hospice Unit at Palestine Medical Center.

Dr. Tanya Solis takes a nonsurgical approach to diagnosing and treating many types of pain and nerve conditions. These include neck, back and joint pain, sciatica, pinched nerves, carpal tunnel syndrome, numbness and phantom limb pain. She specializes in the functional treatment of patients with physical impairment or disabilities, including spasticity associated with spinal cord injuries, strokes, generalized weakness, peripheral neuropathy and much more. Her musculoskeletal background provides an extensive knowledge base of the body's biomechanics and the interaction between injury and function.

To help further treat pain conditions, interventional techniques may be used consisting of epidural steroid injections, Botox injections, joint, nerve and trigger point injections, diagnostic branch blocks or radiofrequency denervations; other diagnostic techniques include nerve conduction studies to further diagnosis and treat certain nerve and muscle conditions. Dr. Solis has added a Certified Nurse Practioner, Melissa Cobb, to her practice which allows acute pain patients to be seen in a timely manner.
